Welcome to Holistic Wellness for Kids! My name is Dr. Elizabeth Ward. I live with my amazing family who are; my husband Mathew and three children Matix, Zoie, and Xavier (my favorite 4). For personal enrichment I enjoy running, hiking, biking, camping, non-fiction reading, researching, and learning about integrative health, functional health & holistic wellness. During my educational journey I have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (B.A.), A dual track Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health (M.ED.) I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). My Doctorate degree is in Educational Psychology (Ph.D.).  I have integrative training in: nutrition, alternative medicine, aromatherapy, herbalism, homeopathy, acupuncture, integrative listening therapy, light therapy, detoxification, and bioenergetics.

I consider myself to be a wellness and learning advocate for children. As a holistically minded therapist, I specialize in working with children who have Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, learning disabilities and other neurological based disorders. I view neurological disorders as Neuro-immune disorders that effect the neurological and immune systems together. I am passionate about helping children find their inner strengths to heal their own bodies while utilizing therapeutic, biomedical and bioenergetic approaches. I focus greatly on strengthening the immune system, the digestive system and the neurological system for helping a child gain and maintain recovery.

I consider an optimal practice in mental health to use a wide range of treatment modalities that consider the child’s mind, body and spirit. One treatment method isn’t going to heal a child with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, learning disabilities or sensory processing disorder. When the most effective treatment methods are used in combination, a child can be on a path to recovery. Cognitive behavior therapies can be wonderful tools in helping children lower stress, increase self-esteem and help children gain hope for change. Children need a safe place to be stress-free. Behavioral therapies can help teach children relaxation techniques for gaining control over stress in the body. The body can also be supported with the use of optimal nutrition, herbs, vitamins, minerals, homeopathy, exercise, biofeedback, neurofeedback, mindfulness and essential oils. Detoxification protocols are also important tools for treating the child’s mind, body and spirit. The bioenergetic process of cellular regeneration should also be a focus of mental health treatment. Multiple treatment modalities will increase the chances of your child regaining optimal health and mental health.

I strongly believe children can be helped, cured and managed through naturopathic methods that do not involve the use of psychiatric medications. We need to recover children and medications are not aiding a full body recovery. So many children are on the wrong path to recovery and I am passionate about navigating children in finding the right path for recovery. I also believe that children can recover from neurological disorders. Autism and ADHD are a multilevel biomedical disorder involving the immune system, toxin overload, the digestive system, the limbic system and many other layers that compromise a child’s health. When a child suffers from Autism, they are severely suffering from a toxin overload and immune system deficiencies. We must help our children lesson the overloaded stressors placed on their bodies through treatment modalities that consider the mind, body and spirit.
